About Me
Mr Nick Hamilton is a consultant ENT surgeon and laryngologist in London, specialising in disorders of the throat. He treats conditions including voice disorder, recurrent tonsillitis, tonsil stones, chronic cough and throat clearing, swallowing difficulty and the lump-in-the-throat sensation, offering modern, evidence-based care.
He practises privately at The London Clinic and One Welbeck, with his NHS practice at the Royal National ENT Hospital, part of University College London Hospitals.
Experience
In 2022, I was appointed as a consultant ENT surgeon and laryngologist — a specialist in conditions of the throat and voice box — at the Royal National ENT Hospital, part of University College London NHS Foundation Trust. That same year, I began private practice at The London Clinic and One Welbeck. Currently, I run five clinics and two operating lists each week.
Between 2021 and 2022, I received fellowship training in Laryngeal Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA, where I gained valuable experience in managing complex throat conditions. I also received training in advanced surgical techniques, including the use of the green light laser, which I have since introduced into my UK practice.
From 2010 to 2021, I trained in ENT at University College London and Imperial College NHS Trusts, focusing on laryngology — the area of ENT dedicated to the throat, voice box and airway. Through this, I gained expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of throat and voice conditions.
Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in research and was awarded a PhD in 2017 for my work on using cell therapies to treat scarring of the throat and airway. I am currently an Associate Professor at University College London, where I continue to research innovative treatments conditions of the larynx.
